This series is part of a wider set of images we created during a workshop challenge in Italy. To be honest, I had no expectations during the shoot that I would get any good results. Bronwyn, Aamera and I had almost no time to prepare, the already difficult light situation changed every few minutes and on top of all, we blended some movement into the scene. The sun was coming down, so I wanted to shoot a Porta 400 film stock with its soft, intense colours, but I couldn’t find it. So I ended up with capturing the whole set in black and white, thinking that it would be such a missed opportunity.
How wrong I was. Sometimes black and white is all you need. Can you hear the music?
